Spend a full day at Copenhagen Zoo, home to more than 4,000 mammals, reptiles, and birds. See the panda house, Norman Foster’s elephant house, polar bears, giraffes, okapi, and the Tropical House. Travel from Rovaniemi to Ranua Zoo in a small group of up to eight. Your English-speaking driver-guide handles the transfer, explains the park, and can walk with you or let you explore on your own for about 1.5 hours. Look for polar bears, Arctic foxes, moose, wolves, lynxes, and snow owls, then eat at the zoo restaurant.

“The guide was on time to pick me up and my hotel was a tad out of the city and they were kind enough to accomodate me. The drive was comfortable and the zoo itself is nice. Though, you should be prepared to spend time at the exhibits since the animals hide. The bears were all hibernating (here in early Jan) so I saw none which was a downer. The whole tour was well organised and the drive up and down takes a little over an hour one way.”
